There's this one wish that I longed to come true, Every time I'm in Camarines Norte, I see to it that I visit Capalonga Church. It is said that it's a Miraculous Place.
Chinese business men travel all the way from Manila to visit the
church and make their wish. They say that you have to visit the church
yearly for your wish to come true. According to the story: A very long time ago maybe more than a hundred years, A fisherman got an odd looking log from the sea along the shorelines of Capalonga. He then took it to a local craftsman to make something out of it. When the craftsman sliced the wood, blood came out of it. Probably stunned, the fisherman and the craftsman took it to the towns priest. Then
they decided to make it as the main material for The Black Nazarene of Capalonga. Another story is that the black wooden cross carried by the Black Nazarene were the exact miraculous wood, and that it was already in the form of a crucifix when the fisherman discovered it. Both stories can be true, but whatever the true story is, I still believe in its power. Until this day the Black Nazarene is believed to be miraculous.I myself have visited the church countless times since I was very young. My mother always took us there during our yearly summer vacation. It is when I was 25 years old when I decided to
visit Capalonga by myself and make my lifetime wish. I never came true since I failed to visit on a yearly basis. I'm 28 now by the way. Although my wish never came true, I never doubted of it's power. I still have strong faith in him. My lifelong wish was just to simply gain weight and be as normal looking as possible.
Shallow isn't it? But for me It's all that I ever wanted.
I don't find it shallow. at all. Mine's shallow-er, I think. And like you, I'm still waiting for that one wish to come true. For now, all we can do is believe in Him. :)
